TYPO3 and Aviation - How pilots would fly an TYPO3 upgrade

Do you now you pilot of big airplanes are doing their job and dealing with technical issues, changing weathre, emergencies and other unexpected upcoming events - and staying cool and professional, not losing their minds? How would pilots handle your TYPO3 upgrades? Upgrading a project to the next (or more) TYPO3 core version is a nightmare for you and/or your team/developers/integrators - and you/they sweet blood only thinking on it for the next project update?

I went personally through the same, until I discovered some things. To be honest, an upgrade will always be some work, and your will always hit errors and exceptions. With a serious-minded preparation it will only take time (maybe lesser than without), but it will not destroy your nerves or burn your developer/integrator working on it.

Within this lecture I will not provide a strict list to follow, but show you how important it is to develop standard procedures for you, your team and upgrades and adjusting them over time.

Albeit not a pilot, I'm a big aviation fan. I would compare and guide you this topic comparing it to the aviation industry and how pilots are trained and would handle upgrades. You will be suprised.

This helped me personally a lot in the last couple of years, and upgrades have been simply a doing and no hazzle and frightning nightmare.

Save your soul!!!
